Vcom3D, Inc., located in Orlando, FL, is an award-winning developer of authoring tools and solutions for interactive online multimedia, job aids, simulations and gaming.

Our products and solutions include Vcommunicator® digital virtual characters and SigningAvatar® sign language characters that serve as mentors, interpreters, collaborators, and role-playing actors; and that interact with users through automated lip-synched speech or sign language, gesture, facial expression, and manipulation of the simulated environment. Vcommunicator® products include Studio and Gesture Builder authoring tools as well as Vcommunicator® Mobile, a mobile language and culture mission/job aid.

Sign Smith products, using the SigningAvatar characters, include Sign Smith Studio, ASL Animations, and Illustrated Dictionary. Vcom3D also develops custom learning content, simulations, and learning games.

Programs and Contracts Manager

The Programs and Contract Manager will be responsible for reviewing and advising on all proposed, new, and existing contracts and subcontracts for completeness of response, adherence to the Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements and clauses, and ongoing costs to complete and financial analysis.

Specific tasks and responsibilities include:

• Working closely with the CTO and VP, Programs for new proposal submission including organizing proposal volumes (if required) and assisting in executing contract modifications

• Working with the CFO to cost new proposals and assist finance department as needed for invoicing

• Assisting the CEO and VP, Programs as needed on teaming, NDA, and other contractual agreements

• Establishing and maintaining relationships with the POC for both contracts and subcontract organizations, as well as approving all subcontractor invoices

• Reviewing new contracts for invoicing, acceptance, special clauses, and summarizing issues and proposing modifications

• Assisting the CEO and CTO on IP ownership

• Attending kick-off and other customer meetings as appropriate

• Maintaining project schedules and analyzing costs to complete in conjunction with Project Leaders using MS Project, Word, and Excel

• Assisting the CFO with DCAA audits

• Maintaining the contracts database as well as the Mobile inventory schedule

• Facilitating staff and documenting security requirements

Requirements for this position include:

• Bachelors Degree in Finance and 10+ years of experience in government contracts and financial management

• Demonstrated capability in understanding FAR and DCAA requirements

• Superior communication skills with customers, staff, and Company management

• Secret clearance

Character Modeler

The Character Modeler will work with Vcom3D's technical and creative team to develop lifelike 3D human character models for Interactive Multimedia Instruction. The primary emphasis of this work will be modeling highly articulated, seamless character models. These will include characters of all ages, races, and ethnicities, in casual, school, and business attire, as well as military, law enforcement, healthcare, and emergency response uniforms. Tasks may also include modeling fantasy characters for use in children's educational software.

We plan to offer this as a 3 to 6 month contractor position, with an option for possible longer term contracting or employment.

Requirements for this position include:

• Associates Degree in Digital Arts or related discipline; or demonstrated equivalent understanding of both technical and artistic principles of 3D modeling.

• Demonstrated experience creating and animating lifelike human character models for real-time rendering.

• Demonstrated experience using one of the major 3D Digital Content Creation programs to model, rig, and texture lifelike characters, and to animate them using forward and inverse kinematics. Experience with Maya, Mudbox, and Photoshop preferred.

• Experience working closely with software developers to develop and refine modeling and animation methods.

Experience or studies in one or more or the following areas is desirable:

• Experience developing character models for 3D game applications.

• Experience modeling hard surface objects (equipment, environments, etc.), as well as organic models.

• Demonstrated experience using advanced methods for skin deformations.

• Experience developing photo-realistic textures for real-time 3D characters.

Unity Game Developer

Will work with Vcom3D's technical and creative team to create cutting edge immersive 3D games, scenarios, and training simulations. Candidate will work with Vcom3D's highly expressive characters to make custom 3D applications for PC, Mac, Web, and mobile devices.

Requirements for this position include:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• 3 years experience game programming

• 1 year experience programming games with Unity

• Expertise in C# programming language

• Mastery of 3D computer graphics concepts

Experience or studies in one or more or the following areas is desirable:

• Programming experience in Apple iOS SDK

• Programming experience in Google Android SDK

• Java, C++, Objective-C programming languages

Audio Design Engineer (Contractor or Part-time Employee)

Will work with Vcom3D's technical and creative team to help setup and run our Audio booth and equipment. Candidates will also need to record, clean, mix, and edit voice recordings in several languages. An average of 80-100 hours per month is anticipated September-December 2010. Work will be primarily conducted at Vcom3D's Orlando office. There is a potential for this to grow into a full-time employee position.

Requirements for this position include:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Audio Design Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

• Expertise with digital sound editing software

• Knowledge of audio filters and effects

• Experience running a sound board

• Experience with voice and effects recording

• Knowledge of analog and digital recording and processing equipment

• Excellent communication skills

Experience or studies in one or more or the following areas is desirable:

Principal Investigator (PI)

The Principal Investigator will lead the proposals and development for R&D projects, to include game-based learning and performance support for use on PC, MAC, and mobile devices. In this role the PI will lead the project team in the design and test of applications that may include the development of a systems solution, instructional / user interface, realistic characters & animations, scenarios, and game engine integration.

Specific tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Leading research and development projects in training, education, and 3D gaming scenarios with Vcommunicator Virtual Human simulations; including proposal and execution phases.

• Working closely with the Product Development Team to assure that Vcom3D's multimedia and simulation authoring tools and applications meet project requirements by participating in the product design phase, and by leading internal and external usability evaluations.

• Working closely with marketing and business development to understand customers' needs and translate these to system requirements

Requirements for this position include:

• Master's or Doctoral Degree in Modeling and Simulation, Computer Engineering, or related field.

• Proven ability to propose, win, and lead research and development contracts in the field of multimedia and game-based training and education.

• Proven experience in analyzing and characterizing the visual and aural cues required to perform tasks.

• Proven experience in designing, conducting, and analyzing the results of user evaluations; including the application of safeguards to protect evaluation subjects.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, including planning, budgeting, documentation, and the development and monitoring of work assignments.

• Outstanding team leadership and management skills along with multi-tasking experience.

Experience or studies in one or more or the following areas is desirable

• Experience developing simulation-based "hard skills" and "soft skills" instruction and performance aids.

• Experience developing medical simulations, instruction, and performance aids.

• Specific experience in developing training in foreign languages and cultures.

Graphics Software Developer

The Graphics Software Developer will work with Vcom3D's technical and creative team to develop 3-D Runtime Software and Character Animation Authoring Tools. Candidates for this position should have 3+ years of computer graphics experience.

Requirements for this position include:

• Mastery of 3-D Computer Graphics programming

• Experience with OpenGL and Direct3D Graphics APIs

• C/C++ programming using MS Visual C++

• Experience in Windows programming, including ActiveX and COM

• Integration with or software development of one or more 3D game engines

• Graphical User Interface development using MFC

Interactive Multimedia Developer

Development of interactive multimedia using Adobe Flash, Action Script, and Java Script. Identifying, coordinating and working with outside sources of translation, voice talent, and cultural expertise. Web design using HTML and related technologies. Development of 2D artwork for computer interfaces, using vector and raster image editing tools. Development and editing of 3D models and animation with an emphasis on character animation. Use of sound and video recording and editing tools to create multi-lingual multimedia. Programming in at least two of the following languages: Java, C, C++, Objective C and VRML.

Requirements for this position:

Master’s in Digital Media, Computer Science or related field + 3 yrs experience in developing & using 3D modeling & animation software.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Positions

During the 2010-2011 school year, Vcom3D will offer short-term research positions for undergraduates.

These Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) are sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and are only available for students that are currently a candidate for Associates or Bachelor's Degree and are currently enrolled at a community college or university. REU research will generally be performed at Vcom3D's office in Orlando, Florida.

The hours of this position are flexible and accommodating to the student's academic course load, however it is expected that the student should be available around 20-30 hours each week. This position does not provide any medical benefits.

Housing in Orlando, if required, is the responsibility of the student.

Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) Positions

During the 2010-2011 school year, Vcom3D will offer a temporary research position for teachers.

These Research Experiences for Teachers (RETs) are sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and are only available for K-14 educators. RET research will generally be performed at Vcom3D's office in Orlando, Florida, but may involve travel based on business needs.

Generally, candidates must have received a bachelor's degree. Each RET position is for 288 to 400 hours, with a pay rate of $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience level.

Positions may be part time, for persons currently teaching, or full time, for teachers on a semester break. This position does not provide any medical benefits.

Housing in Orlando, if required, is the responsibility of the teacher.

Digital Media Software (Undergraduate Internship)

The Digital Media Software Intern will work with Vcom3D's technical and creative team to develop Interactive Multimedia using Vcom3D’s Vcommunicator authoring tools and other third-party multimedia software. Typical projects will include the development of 3D animations of interactive “virtual human” characters, using a combination of graphical design tools, scripting and programming. Candidates for this position should also demonstrate the ability to work closely with instructional systems designers, artists, and our software development team.

Requirements for this position include:

• Junior or Senior-level candidate for Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media, Computer Science, or equivalent programming degree with specialization in digital arts.

• Experience in programming with Java and/or C/C++.

• Experience in scripting with JavaScript, ActionScript or related scripting language.

• Competency in using image, sound, and video editing tools.

• Understanding of 3D Computer Graphics principles.

• Excellent communication skills.

Experience or studies in one or more or the following areas is desirable:

• Creative Writing.

• VRML, X3D, or other 3D scene graph representations.
