The Signing Math Dictionary (SMD) is one in a series of illustrated, interactive 3D sign language dictionaries. It was designed for students who are Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing and use American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed English (SE) in the classroom. It is also intended to serve as a resource for teachers and parents.
TERC, in collaboration with Vcom3D, used SigningAvatar® accessibility software to animate 705 math terms and definitions. The SMD supports access to standards-based math content among elementary and middle school students.
