Being able to effectively communicate when in an unfamiliar region is critical for soldiers, business people and travelers alike. To address this need, Vcom3D developed Vcommunicator® Mobile. This iPod-based tool uses audio of scenario-specific phrases and video of culturally appropriate behaviors to assist users in language training and cross-cultural communication anytime, anywhere.
When combined with the Vcommunicator® Authoring Suite, users are able to create and modify the Mobile content based on their specific needs. The result is an evolving and customized collection of images, audio and video that provides clearer communication between locals and users, thereby improving relations.
Vcommunicator® Mobile is currently being used by the U.S. Military. Over 1,000 devices have been fielded in Iraq, Afghanistan and Sudan. The iPod platform is solider friendly and provides a lot of flexibility when it comes to meeting our soldier’s needs. This product was designed with and by Warfighters and as such meets their needs.
