Leveraging Open Standards to Create Mixed Reality Medical Simulations

Check out our latest publication, where we highlight our new Mixed Reality Trainer (MRT) that integrates physical manikins with augmented reality (AR) overlays, virtual anatomical visualization, and real-time performance feedback. This approach enhances lower-fidelity manikins with dynamic instructional content, reducing reliance on expensive simulators and instructor intervention. This paper and associated presentation were given at the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) 2026 Simulation Innovation Workshop (SIW) and was awarded a SIWzie Award as one of the workshop’s best papers.
